Getting to know about the rendering tools

I am just a job oriented person, few days my friend suggested about the rendering and modeling in the video. We have car business and we are just inclined to get the most realistic type of visualization for the clients and many people have suggested 3D animation rendering for that task. How much do you reckon that it is good enough to portray for a business like automobile company business. You can give you suggestions here on this forum.
