I already try to disable my antivirus so many times and so far i am not experiencing any kinds of threats with my computer. It's not that i want to, I'm thinking maybe I am just lucky enough. But does antivirus really help your computers? Some of my friends told me that even with their antivirus updated, they still encounter things, i don't know what are those but it seems they are complaining about their antivirus. What could be the best program to use? Cheers!

As for me, it definitely does. I have both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes running on my system. Windows Defender for viruses and Malwarebytes for malware. It is specifically stated on Malwarebytes' website that it is a good combination and it is compatible with almost all the Antivirus packages on the internet.
I've also read an article that just using your common sense while browsing the internet won't help secure your computer. There will always be zero-day exploits and you will be unaware of how you got your PC infected even if you were browsing only safe sites.

Yes, it does and it really is essential especially if you don't want any trouble coming to your pc. For me, it's really important because I usually transfer files via flashdrive and when I scan them, there is usually at least one virus showing up. I cannot afford to have a virus in my computer because I have very important files in here like my research paper and business plan. Prevention is better than cure. Always remember that. Plus it can be a real hassle if you have to pay a couple of bucks to fix your computer because of a certain virus. If you refuse to purchase an antivirus, I'm sure there are lots available online for free which are actually safe.

I think it does as well, but you have to remember that people creating viruses are always learning, always trying to find ways in and around the software. I think for that reason you've always got to be mindful when it comes to ensuring your antivirus is up to date.
Also, as others have already mentioned, go for a reputable anti virus.

I would highly suggest and recommend that you download and keep an anti-virus program on your laptop or desktop. You could go for years without ever having a problem or getting a virus but you don't know that. All it takes is one dodgy email or link and you could potentially be infected by a virus which would not be great at all for you. There's really no reason to not have an anti-virus program on your device really because it won't disturb you, it doesn't really cost you anything (unless you decide to upgrade to a premium version of course) and it will silently ensure that your device is secure and safe in the background!

Yes of course. Anti virus will help you to clean your computer and run it smoothly. Those unwanted virus and malware coming from the internet is not really safe. Sometimes this the reason why your computer running slowly and you encounter some lag. Anti virus will help you also to avoid some application running without your permission, and some automatic installation of some advertisement.

I'm pretty sure anti-virus helps your computer a lot, it prevents infections, makes things run easier, some even help you clean trash and release space. I keep mine updated and I hardly ever had any issue. The internet is not exactly a safe place and lots of things can get into your computer and anti-virus at least put a wall to prevent that, maybe some will slipped and get in anyway, but the majority won't and that's the whole point.

Hello! Im using avida. It works for me! I have Hard drives that has viruses. When inserted to other pc's it corrupts all the files and softwares on that pc but when i insert it on my Pc, my pc runs a scan immediately and has options that easily delete the virus itself.

Are you seriously asking if anti virus software actually works? What I can infer from this your question is that it's likely that you haven't had any kind of virus or malware attack on your computer, laptop or mobile devices because if you had, you will definitely believe in the efficiency and importance of anti virus software.
I have had one virus attack on my android device and on my laptop but I was the one who is to be blamed for it because I knowingly inserted a suspectible flash drive in my system and from there it corrupted my files.
So after that, I never use any untrusted hardware on my system because I know what it took me to recover all my data and files that were corrupted and lost as a result of that virus.

I think some of anti virus software does not work well. I had an anti virus software that make my desktop become lag and i do not know why then i have my computer technician that told me my anti virus is the cause he told me to remove it and after I remove it my desktop becomes like a new one the speed is very well. that is why some of them are not good just choose wisely before you download it or install it.

It's really great to hear that Avida works well for you on your laptop. Please, I don't use any form of antivirus at the moment, but I would be quite happy if you can assist by telling me more about this antivirus and how I can download/buy it from the Internet. I have not had attacks to my system in a long time, but that doesn't mean I should not protect it.
