  • Old desktop not booting normally

We purchased our home desktop in 2009 and it is running on Windows XP. I understand that it is already antiquated, so to speak, but it's still giving us good service particularly with the old programs that run well under Windows XP and wouldn't run properly in Windows 7. In the past week, the booting would pass by the CMOS setup screen. To continue, we had to press the F1 key and then choose the settings although I just proceed to the exit button without changing anything. Yesterday I had noticed the F2 key would be faster because it will proceed to boot in the normal way using the default setting. What could be the problem with our desktop?
